The Cyclorhythmic festival 2023 is a meeting of percussionists, musicians and composers that will take place on March 17 and 19 at the “Xanthippi Hoipel” amphitheater at MOMus-Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art – Collections of the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art and the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki.
The Cyclorhythmic Festival 2023 is organized by the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia in collaboration with the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art.
Its aim is to approach the contemporary repertoire for percussion instruments, both in the phase of interpretation and in the moment of creation. In his actions, composers, performers and the percussion instruments themselves coexist and collaborate in a perpetual exploration of sound in the now. The festival recognizes the work of established composers and performers while also giving space to young creators and musicians, always revolving around percussion.
