“UP TO 8” Chamber Music Festival

The “Up to 8” Chamber Music Festival is a celebration. The stomp, the prestige and the seriousness that possessed this concept in the past, give way to freedom, to creative listening, to substance. The title “Up to 8” is deterministic, as it describes the maximum number of people (up to 8) with whom one can build countless musical combinations in a musical idiom that gave some of the most explosive works of Western Music. Well-known and experienced musicians from Thessaloniki and Greece up to the new, lively generation of musicians from all over Greece, “Up to 8” wants to introduce the public to the magic of chamber music, as experienced by the musicians themselves.

The poster for the “Up to 8” festival of 2021, forms the form of one of the most basic musical instruments of chamber music – the cello. An image, which is created by the freedom of writing letters. From free calligraphy with ink on paper, to the creation of 3D lettering in specialized software, the composition bridges yesterday and today. The historicity of this musical expression with new media, technology and new breath – giving the viewer a complete picture of what they are about to hear and watch – bridging chamber music with new musical currents.
